Amanda Brant

Amanda currently teaches Creative Writing, Poetry, and Women’s and Gender Studies courses at two universities in Pittsburgh. Her work focuses on creativity, personal narrative, and identity. Her courses concerning girlhood also involve experiential education and service-learning projects. She works with first-year Engineering Composition students writing academic and professional papers. Amanda has taught ESL courses for non-native English speakers of varying levels. She has experience helping students discover creativity, practice individual expression, and establish self-care habits. She encourages students to set personal development goals and improve soft skills while learning how to become stronger writers and communicators.

Amanda uses a student centered approach and motivates every student to be curious, ask questions, and be open to critical thinking. She wants every student to do well, and be well.
