Casey Szatkowski

Casey’s career in education began in 2010 when she interned for the Franklin Regional School District for 3rd and 8th grades. She specialized in language and writing instruction by leading small groups to supplement the classroom curriculum. From there, Casey received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh. During that time, she traveled to Mexico and Spain to teach English and attend college courses. In 2018, Casey received her master’s degree in English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and began her career as a college professor. Currently, she is teaching first year composition and Spanish at Westmoreland and Butler County Community Colleges. Along with tutoring students of all ages, Casey specializes in remote learning, literature, and language instruction.

As a professor and tutor, Casey believes that it is very important to develop her students’ digital literacy skills. Along with a focus on content, she works to ensure that students are learning to use technology, as a learning tool and aid, to its fullest potential.
