Elijah graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2014 with degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. Before moving to Pittsburgh for graduate school, Elijah was a middle school math teacher and taught 6th Grade Math and English Language Development at a public charter school in Denver, CO. As a teacher, Elijah was qualified to teach all secondary sciences. He was also a volunteer mentor for Denver Urban Scholars.
Elijah is currently working towards a master’s degree in Biostatistics at Pitt and is a teaching assistant for a master’s level statistics course. As a teacher and tutor, Elijah has a strong sense of vertical alignment, anticipating which prerequisite skills students might be missing in order to help them grasp current concepts and move ahead.
