Kasey Gallagher

Kasey’s career in education began in 2014, when she began her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education, PreK-4 at Duquesne University. While in school, she visited many schools in the Pittsburgh area, working one-on-one and in small groups with students kindergarten through fifth grade. When she wasn’t in classes, she worked both as a tutor with second grade through fifth grade students at an afterschool program in the Allentown neighborhood, and at a preschool and nursery in downtown Pittsburgh. After graduating in 2018, she began working at a Pittsburgh charter school as a kindergarten teacher. While teaching, she has worked as an afterschool tutor and a summer literacy interventionist. She has experience working with the Evidence Based Literacy Instruction program, the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness program, and Words Their Way, a hands-on approach to phonics and literacy. Kasey has experience working with children in both regular and special education programs. She artfully paces and structures lessons to make learning accessible to all students.
