Kyra Forman

Aside from tutoring, Kyra is currently a Student Assistance Program (SAP) Liaison for UPMC. In this role, she is part of Propel Schools Partners in Wellness (PPIW), which provides in-school support to students who are experiencing barriers to their learning. In her role as a liaison, Kyra instructs small-group social skills lessons and works individually with students on emotional regulation skills. She also helps train teachers to improve their ability to support students with unique needs. Prior to being a SAP Liaison, Kyra worked as a classroom assistant at Propel Schools in 5th grade classrooms. She provided small group math and reading instruction for children with special education needs. Kyra also has experience working with children as a preschool teacher and as a member of AmeriCorps. Additionally, Kyra has a certificate in Teaching English as A Foreign Language (TEFL) and has received training in tutoring ESL students through the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. Kyra believes in the innate ability of all children to be successful and feels that with the right support, all children can thrive.
