Louis Bartholomew

Louis is entering his second year at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz School, where he is earning his Master of Science in Public Policy and Management. He has always had a passion for history, current events, maps, and cities. Louis hopes to work in transportation planning and policy next year in Pittsburgh’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure as a policy analyst. Currently, Louis is a TA for an Organizational Design Implementation course at CMU.

Prior to tutoring, Louis taught Algebra I and Algebra II as part of Teach for America in Detroit. His teaching experience informs his belief that each child deserves to have their individual, educational needs understood and met. He focuses on ensuring that students have a clear understanding of underlying concepts, while fostering a curious mindset that promotes deeper learning. During his time in Detroit, Louis was also certified to teach History (grades 6-12), as well as Elementary Education.
