Terea Pope Green

Terea’s interest in becoming a teacher began at around age eight when she would collect extra worksheets from teachers and use them to instruct her peers in the neighborhood. In 1999 she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Since then she has worked in Pittsburgh Public Schools for 22 years. During that time, she has been a classroom teacher for grades K-3, a teacher at the after-school program, taught homebound students in grades K-12, and supervised teachers K-8 while in her role as a Math Curriculum Coach. Over the years she has led and participated in trainings and workshops including ER&D Number Talks, DMI, Problem Solving, and has completed thousands of hours of additional professional development. Terea builds trusting relationships with her students that inspire them to take academic risks. She keeps learning active and fun, ensuring student engagement and excitement.
